This rare Gallet & Co. RAF Asymmetric Series III military chronograph from 1981 is unique in the history of RAF supplies. Distinguished by its engraved ‘/81’ caseback, typical of Precista deliveries, it features an original Gallet dial, never before seen on this configuration. The matt black dial, without the classic circle with the ‘T’, features painted Arabic numerals, tritium hour markers and the government arrow. The counters with chemin de fer minute tracks give the piece a technical and rigorous character. The reliable Valjoux 7733 calibre, signed Gallet, confirms its originality. This example appears to be a military supply “crossover”, probably assembled during the same batch destined for the RAF. Its condition, marked but authentic, bears witness to its active service and adds to its historical charm. A watch for the most discerning collectors of military chronographs, among the rarest in its category.
Case: Asymmetric stainless steel, designed to shield pushers in military service.
Dial: Exceptionally rare Gallet layout, unlike the known “Fab Four,” enhancing its collectability.
Movement: Valjoux 7733 manual wind, a trusted military chronograph movement of the era.
