More information
Case: crafted in stainless steel, the case features a sleek, round silhouette with an elegant 37 mm diameter—very wearable even today. The most distinctive element is the presence of two crowns: one positioned at 2 o’clock to operate the mechanical alarm, and the other at 4 o’clock to wind and set the time. The caseback is engraved with the model name “Memovox” and case number, confirming its originality.
Dial: the silver-tone dial showcases the classical design language of the 1960s: applied hour markers, dauphine hands, a neatly integrated date window at 3 o’clock, and a centrally mounted rotating alarm disc. A small triangle indicates the set alarm time. The dual-level dial layout ensures the alarm function remains readable yet unobtrusive.
Movement: inside beats the Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber K825, a technically advanced automatic movement with a mechanical alarm complication. Introduced in 1959, the K825 was one of the earliest self-winding alarm calibers and represents a pivotal evolution from the earlier manually wound Memovox calibers. It employs a bumper rotor system and remains highly regarded for its reliability and ingenuity.
