The Omega Seamaster 300 ref. 165.024 belongs to the generation of professional diving watches that helped define Omega’s sporting identity during the 1960s. The reference is documented with the automatic calibre 552 and is also closely associated with professional and military use.

With its movement serial in the 24.22 million range, the present example can be placed circa 1966–1967. Its substantial stainless steel case displays the characteristic architecture of reference 165.024, with strongly faceted lugs and a screw-down case back featuring the Seamaster hippocampus and circular “Certified High Pressure Waterproof” inscription.

The black dial features the classic 3-6-9-12 “Small Triangle” configuration, broad luminous hour markers and distinctive sword-shaped hands. The luminous material has aged to pronounced orange-caramel tones, complemented by similarly aged details on the black rotating bezel.

Powering the watch is Omega’s automatic calibre 552, a 24-jewel movement from the 550-series family. Its no-date construction preserves the clean symmetry of the Seamaster 300 dial. The watch is completed by an Omega stainless steel flat-link bracelet, reference 1507.

Case: the stainless steel case displays the characteristic profile of reference 165.024, with substantial faceted lugs and a broad graduated rotating bezel. Its screw-down case back is decorated with the Seamaster hippocampus and the circular “Certified High Pressure Waterproof” and “Seamaster” inscriptions. Reference 165024 is visible inside the case back.

Dial: the black dial combines Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 with a peripheral minute track and broad luminous hour markers. The “Small Triangle” configuration is distinguished by the comparatively restrained triangular marker at 12 o’clock. Broad sword-shaped hour and minute hands are complemented by a distinctive geometrically tipped centre seconds hand. The luminous material across the dial, hands and bezel displays pronounced beige to orange-caramel ageing.

Movement:Omega calibre 552 is a 24-jewel automatic mechanical movement belonging to the 550-series family. Its time-only, no-date architecture complements the symmetrical layout of the Seamaster 300. The calibre is documented in reference 165.024 examples from the period, including watches from 1967 and 1968.
